So here we go with Day 1. We were up bright and early to eat breakfast and pack up the vans that would take us to Machame Gate. We said goodbye to civilization and off we went. We had about a 2 hour ride to the gate. Once we arrived we grabbed some lunch and got on our way. Here's the route we were traveling for our first day (I've highlighted it in white):
Though we were supposedly already into the "dry" season we hit a lot of rain. Just a we pulled into our lunch stop it dropped buckets on us. Thank goodness for a lunch tent and some amazing food. By the time we made it to camp that night it had dried off and we were able to unpack in relative dryness. Here are a selection of pictures.
