Our first snow!

While Chantal and Peter were here visiting (before heading back to the state) we got our first snow fall in Wiesbaden. It wasn't much, but it stuck around overnight which is more than I had expected. The hills just beyond Wiesbaden got even more snow. Here's our back yard:

A weekend away

After a busy week at work Javier and I needed a weekend away. We decided to make the 4 hour drive to Bruges, Belgium: the Venice of northern Europe.

It was a beautiful town with numerous canals. We took a very chilly ride through the canals and learned about the history of the city. Here's Javier at the start of our tour.

The town center is a site to see as well. With horse drawn carriages filling the square, restaurants line the area along with a beautiful church and town center.

To get this last picture to come out correctly Javier had to balance the camera on my head :)

Boo! It's Halloween

So Germans do not celebrate Halloween, but that didn't stop us from enjoying the evening. Our friends Danielle and Jonathan had a halloween party at their house. There were some great costumes. Unfortunately I forgot my camera and couldn't take any pictures. We took lots with Danielle's camera, but we're still waiting for Jonathan to upload them. So in the meantime you'll just have to imagine......
a plug and socket
Team America villian
a sexy police officer
Harry Potter and crew
Austin Powers
a sexy girl scout
Rainbow Brite

and many more...
Hopefully I'll have pictures up next week so you can see the debauchery that was had.
