Javier had so much fun skiing in Lech that he wanted to try it again. So we found a great beginner friendly mountain in Austria called Lofer. Its about 40km from Salzburg and is just on the tip of the Alps, so it is beautiful. The day after Christmas we got in the car and made the 5 hour drive. We stayed in a beautiful Frühstückspension (bed and breakfast) that allowed us to walk right out to the gondola in the morning. After two 9-minute gondola rides we were ready to ski.

The trail in the pictures above was the intermediate level trail

that Javier was skiing by the end of the weekend. He's done a great job and has really picked up skiing, but it wasn't always about the intermediate slopes. Here's Javier mastering the tow rope on the bunny hill.
He made getting down the trail as easy as going up.....
I enjoyed the skiing as well. We were lucky to have had such beautiful days.

Both days that we skiied it was warm and sunny. We were even able to have lunch outside one day. Take a look at the trail behind me in this picture. Those people are taking a tow rope up to the expert trails.
