Starting Point: Kloster Eberbach
Distance: 9km
This Saturday we headed to Kloster Eberbach to start our hike. We didn't get a chance to check it out, but certainly that will be another trip. We were a bit off the beaten trail, turning where we wanted to onto paths that could only vaguely be called trails. Fortunately Javier had is hiking gps and we never got lost. We did get wet. Very wet. Good thing we had our new rain gear with us and were able to give it a try.
We also made a great find at the peak of our hike.

An old Hallgarten used for parties that had lodging and a restaurant. In its heyday the view must have been beautiful. Our rainy pictures above show the building still erect. If it weren't such a cloudy day we would have gotten a picture of the view as well. BTW, we didn't have to climb over that fence to get in. There was a gap in the fence around the backside and we climbed in that way.

Along the way we found the Camel and Alpacca farm nearby. On our way down the views were amazing. You could see the towns and farms for miles (or kilometers). The Rhine is somewhere in the background of this picture. The photo just doesn't do the scene justice.

Finally toward the end of our hike we found this little guy. Thought I would get his picture since we had seen so many along the way and this was the only one in a shell.
