To all the non-believers

It really does exist!

Let me start by mentioning how many people asked us: "Why are you going to Dublin for St. Patty's Day, you know they don't celebrate it like we do in the states". Friends, family, perfect strangers shared words of warning so we would not be disappointed when we got to Dublin and there was no "party" for St. Patty's day. You'll be relieved to know that this would not be an accurate depiction of our weekend.

Instead, as one cabbie put it, the party was "mental". There were people from all over the world in Dublin to celebrate. Everywhere you looked it was green; green hair, green clothes, green hats. The only green missing was the river and the beer (the green cocktails more than made up for it). Here are just a few (okay more than a few) of the party pictures we took during our three nights (Sat, Sun, Mon) of partying in Dublin.

On Sunday we toured the Guiness Store House and did a historic walking tour of Dublin.

On Monday, the masses arrived early to get a good spot to view the parade. By the time we made it there we staked out a spot on the bridge hoping to catch a glimpse of the parade. Javier, having some additional height on me, was able to get a few good pictures of some of the floats.
