Our first Fasching

So you are asking yourself, "what is Fasching?". Well its very similar to Carnival. Need more info than that? Wikipedia provides more information than could ever be imagined. Suffice it to say its quite a party and comes at the perfect time of year: the cold, dark winter.

We were lucky to have Joel and Kevin in town visiting with us so we could share the experience. We all dressed up and headed into the cold. We were in Rudesheim and drinking before lunch. The parade, the main event, was full of decorated floats, lots of loud music, funny costumes, and cold weather "angels" serving wine along the route.

I was a bit camera happy this day, I took almost 200 pictures. Here is a very large sampling of our day.
